Background
Jaźwiecki studied
at the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts, where he specialized in graphic art.
Arrest and Deportation to Auschwitz
He was arrested
in Kraków in 1940, sent to Montelupic prison in Kraków, and was later transferred
to a prison in Radom. September 19, 1942 he was deported to Auschwitz
and assigned prisoner number 79042.
Art Produced at Auschwitz
Jaźwiecki produced
more than 100 portraits of fellow prisoners at Auschwitz and later at other
concentration camps.
Transfer to Other Camps
He was transferred
to Gross-Rosen concentration camp on March 12, 1943, deported to Sachsenhausen
on April 22, 1943, and sent to Halberstadt, a subcamp of Buchenwald, on July 22, 1944.
